sasanqua shigure サザンカ時雨

Karatsu is drizzling today. A rainbow appeared.
Shigure is translated into English as drizzle, shower in late autumn, sprinkle.

By the way, in google translate, the kana shigure is translated as shigure. The kanji shigure is translated as drizzle.

 I think shigure is good for haiku translation, but it might need some explanation.

It seems to be understood in English, but I think it would be better to put an explanation such as Sasanqua Shigure. It's called that because it's a drizzle when the sasanqua blossoms bloom.

 

 今日は唐津は時雨模様。虹も出た。

しぐれを英訳すると drizzle, shower in late autumn, sprinkle などが出てくる。

因みにgoogle翻訳では仮名のしぐれはshigreと訳される。漢字のしぐれはdizzleと訳される。

 俳句の翻訳ではshigureでいいと思うが、解説が必要かもね。

  サザンカしぐれで見ると辞書では sasanqua shigure となる。英語でも通じるようであるが注釈で Sasanqua Shigure. It's called that because it's a drizzle when the sasanqua blossoms bloom. などと説明を入れたほうが伝わると思う。
